GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION BY GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar)
ARSIGNUM and Intelligent Systems Corporation (ISC) is a Scientific and Production Association whose main activities include the adaptation, integration and implementation of world’s modern technologies into the European Union countries.
Being an official partner of four national universities in Latvia, including the University of Latvia and Riga Technical University, our company has significant scientific and technological background, ensuring the successful implementation of numerous projects in various scientific and technological fields.
One of the technologies our company has introduced in Europe is a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey - a geophysical method that uses radar pulses to image the subsurface. This non – destructive method uses electromagnetic radiation in the microwave band of the radio spectrum, and detects the reflected signals from subsurface structures. GPR is used in a variety of media, including rock, soil, ice, fresh water, pavements and structures.
This method has already been successfully approbated in various research fields, including geology, ecology, civil engineering and archaeology.
Our team of researchers includes engineers, topographers, geologists and archaeologists.
